Eid Mubarak!

It's monstrous how we are all able to jump for not eating for 12 hours to eating every 2 hours in just a matter of 12 hours.

That's how Malaysian we all are. But in my family, we take eating to a whole new level.

Brother Number 2 can't seem to get enough of Ketupat, so he chose to bite ma cheeks.

And I decided to eat up this little boy's pudgy sausagy hands.

Honestly, Raya feels a lot like a food marathon frenzy, while maintaining social contacts. You smile and make small talks and then you eat. If you are not quite the chatterbox, you eat some more. Or take it from me, look around the house and see if there's anything that catches your fancy and compliment if you honestly think it's worthy BUT don't go around asking the 20 something daughter of your cousin/aunt who just graduated and got a job, when is her TURN? Aish, all you adult people should know what I'm talking about.
On the morning of Eid, my family and I  prayed at the Surau nearby, followed by a visit to our new neighbour's house. back in Subang, we would have done the same, but of course to a different neighbour's. This year it's Nasi Dagang, a specialty from Terengganu. We are so used to having Nasi Briyani every morning at my former neighbour's house, that the Nasi Dagang gave me an instant knock on my head. Still, the food were good. We then headed to my cousin's house in Bukit Jelutong before visiting my grandaunt in Kelana Jaya.

We surrendered around 3pm after the day's "amazing race" and took a short nap back at home. Our eyes and stomach were both heavy from so much food. Hah, and you believed we ended our marathon so soon? At 6.30 pm we headed to another cousin's house which is just about 5 minutes drive from our house. My parents had the Mee Kari, I only had a spoonful just because I feel obliged too. Terrible!

But guess what happened at about 10pm? We were hungry yet again. But this time, noone wanted to touch ketupats or rendangs and lemangs. it's MCDonalds that we all wanted! How sad, but true! So I drove my parents to a drive through and ordered Cheeseburger and Fillet O Fish. Hey what do we know, Ronald Mc Donald was also seen playing with Fireworks that lit the Golden Arch and saying Selamat Hari Raya!  That's Capitalism for you!

Before I end this post, here's a picture of my family, sans Brother Number 1 and Sister Number 3..

Sucks to be in the middle of 2 slim ladies. Please stand up la slim ladies.

Selamat Hari Raya folks!
