Making the caramel was the hardest part as you have to constantly stir the sugar. And I just found out that if you put in butter, it becomes Caramel sauce like they sell it in the shops. So Mr Ben n Jerry, don't you trick me no more!
I used a normal bowl instead of a "loyang" cos I don't have any.
And this is Tepung Pelita perantau. I don't have the patience to fold daun pandan (screwpine leaves) into tiny open top boxes, so I used those ikea plastic bowls. It turned out alright, although the santan part was a bit salty for my taste. Puasa maaa..Sorry the presentation is horrible, but I was trying to capture the green and the white portion of kuih pelita but ended up messing the whole thing.
