Being an accountant is a tough job because, you tend to emulate calculativeness (kiasu) in your everyday life. I still mentally convert and have subconsciously put a limit on the price of certain commodity and goods (chewah, ayat pun nak ayat finance) that is acceptable. But, you can't always trust me on this. Hehs.

 I shall, however, give you some tips on how to save your moolah and survive living in Dublin. In a survey done by City Mayor , Dublin is the 3rd most expensive city to live in.(Ok, I only found that out!), What with the increase in VAT by 0.5% and 17.5% in utility bills. Ha, biaq semua tahu, kami hidup di perantaun ni bukannyer senang.

 BUT, that does not, and should not stop me from shopping,because one must always follow the rule of thumb. Buy when it's on SALE, and you will leave feeling content.

Uno- Look out for the buy 3 for the price of 2!, in boots for your toiletries, and always scout for Buy 1 get 1 free, which is really worth it because not only do you get good quality brand, but you get it at almost half the price. Say, for example, my curly hair, which requires specific shampoo from either Toni and Guys or John Frieda, you could get the Shampoo, Conditioner and the Hair Serum, only for the price of 2. The calculation I did, when I wait on for the fantastic offer from Boots, would save me 11euros!

Dos-If you are, like me, who loves buying officewear, yes I know how expensive officewear can be, wait for those High Street Fashion brands to go on sale. I'm not sure if it's only Dublin that has Sale every month, or all other European countries as well. But, heck, Dorothy Perkins, Topshop always have a buy 1 get 1 free item, which I will then start buying. Of course, you could also buy even when it's not sale. After all, a top would only cost 45euros, and IF you are the type who do not convert, then it's only RM45.Hehs.

Tres- Visit Shopping Outlet like Kildare to get Polo RL tops for a fraction of the price!

Quatro-Wait on for Christmas, to get a good bargain on Game consoles, ipods and handphone, where they will usually throw in awesome deals.

Cinco- AS for travelling, walk when you can (kalau sejuk baru naik luas), or if you need to fly, book you tickets with Ryanair. If you are lucky, you could get a 20euro (plus tax) ticket to UK during the summer. The tip is, always, always click around.

Seis- Share a meal out with a friend, only because the portion is fit for a KING! It's not me trying to teach you to be a cheapo, but it's true, as Lent commented "EH, why the people here eat alot meh?"

Last but not least, when your employer allows you to use their stationeries for your education, take all the notepads,highlighters,pens and post-its that you need.You could save 10euros! Haha, eh, my employer bagi ok!
